AL Central Standings

Detroit Tigers (29-23)
The Detroit Tigers are currently the division leader of the AL Central. They have the most talent in the division, which includes perennial Cy Young contender Justin Verlander, Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder. According to Baseball Reference Miguel Cabrera has a batting average of .369 and has 15 home runs and he is helping this Tigers team the most. Miguel Cabrera could be on pace to win another triple crown just like last season.

Cleveland Indians (29-24)
The Cleveland Indians have had a great season so far. The Cleveland Indians have a great manager, Terry Francona who won multiple World Series titles in his previous managerial stint with the Red Sox. They have many veteran players to help shape up their roster and that has helped this franchise the most to start out this season.

Chicago White Sox (24-27)
This White Sox team is very young but mixed in with a couple of veterans. The White Sox recently played their cross-town rivals, the Cubs in some interleague action. The White Sox struggled in the series and they were beat in every game of the series. The White Sox are a similar team to the Phillies in the NL East in that they play a good stretch of games but can not be consistent doing it.

Minnesota Twins (23-28)
The Minnesota Twins are exactly where many experts projected them to be at the beginning of season. They are at the bottom of the AL Central and they still have two key veterans in Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau. Justin Morneau could be a trade candidate if the Twins continue to struggle like they have to start the season.

Kansas City Royals (22-29)
The Kansas City Royals started the season out strong. The Royals recently have struggled hitting lately and have went on a losing streak. The Royals have struggled so much that they have turned to Hall of Famer George Brett to try to get their hitting going because he was named the interim hitting coach of the Royals on Thursday. The Royals are a good team that has both experience and youth on it. We will see in time if George Brett can turn around the Royals hitting.
